We need to design long range RF transceiver using ADF7021-N chip in the VHF range 135 : 175 MHz.
I wonder how I can switch a set of VCO inducors, so I will be able to cover the entire band.
Could somebody help me?
In the attached file, please find two circuits each having two inductors which you can use to switch the tuning range of the VCO.
In the first circuit, the two switched inductances are: L1, and a combined inductance of L1 and L2 connected in series.
In the second circuit, the two switched inductances are: L1, and a combined inductance of L1 and L2 connected in parallel.

I'm also interested in using these range switching circuits. Am I right in assuming the diodes shown in the schematics are PIN diodes? If so do you have any recommendations for diode types and the control voltage levels to use?
