How to control CONVSTART with PLA on the ADuC7020?

Please advice to me, ADuC beginner.

I want to control CONVSTART of the ADC with PLA on the ADuC7020.

I understand that,

an external CONVSTART pin, or

an output generated from the on-chip PLA,  can be used to generate a repetitive trigger for ADC conversions.

and,

the output of the PLA can be routed to the CONVSTART signal of the ADC.

However, with my evaluation board

1. an external CONVSTART pin can be used to generate a repetitive trigger for ADC conversions.

;succeed in conversion, and output correct data.

2. an output generated from the on-chip PLA  can not be used to generate a repetitive trigger for ADC conversions.

;failed in conversion, and output incorrect data.  assign P2.0 to SOUT function for UART/I2C/SPI.
