ADAU1701 In-circuit programming switch

Question asked by seeker on May 12, 2015

I can see that there are two different proposals on how to do in-circuit programming of the EEPROM with the ADAU1701.

1) In AN-923 there is just a jumper for grounding the WP pin which is pulled up.

2) On the evaluation board for the ADAU1701 there is a toggle switch performing a similar function (but not the same) of the WP input.

I wonder if there are any special thoughts behind the two different solutions used?

Any pro's and con's? Which one would you recommend?

Is the EVAL-ADUSB2 board using the reset signal when programming the EEPROM?
