I found the ADV7393 to be a very suitable candidate for a project. However, i would like to know whether the chip can support QVGA (320 x240) resolution both at the input and output.
The ADV7393 is basically a DAC with some added features so sync signals can be added to the video outputs.
All timing is based on your digital inputs. The various filters designed for SD and HD video but you probably don't need them for QVGA.
At minimum I would suggest getting an evaluation board and trying it out.
Thanks for the reply. QVGA resolution is the minimum that i have to work with and all the way up to 1080p. If it is for QVGA resolution only, what is the suitable part for it ?
The ADV7393 will only go up to 720p/1080i and 1080p30
Does Analog Devices have the front-end available to loan out for a few days ? I can get the back-end from an online retailer.

The 7403 board plugins into the 7393 board to provide a digital source to the 7393 board. We may not have scripts for the 7403 at QVGA resolutions. Normal scripts handle SD and VGA.
The 7403 Decoder will not be utilized for this project. The reason i mentioned the EVAL-ADV739XFEZ board is we will be using the Xilinx FPGA and the 7393 encoder.
If possible could you share the scripts to configure the 7393 in QVGA and 640x480 modes ?
I thought you were looking for a way to drive the 7393 from a known good source.
The only scripts we have are in the manual starting with table 63. For QVGA maybe start with Table 102.
The ADV7393 should support QVGA fine since it is all based on timing. The DAC output will follow the digital inputs with the sync and blanking pulse inserted as needed.
Yes, that is correct. Since, the 7403 unable to support QVGA resolution. I will skip testing that for now.
