What SHARC board for teaching?

I have a 3rd year University COurse using Blackfin BF533 boards -- happy with that.

I am currently (past 6 years) been using TigerSHARC board to look at optimization issues on DSP processors.

This is a fourth year course.

Question -- should I stay with the TigerSHARC demonstrating VLIW optimization techniques or move out to SHARC.

(Actually move back as I was using 21061 SHARC as late as 2004).

I rather like the 213XX and 4XX boards with the built in FFT, FIR and IIR accelerator hardware support as that offers many opportunities

for optimization discussions.

So is switching from the TigerSHARC to SHARC 21469 boards the way to go if I plan to teach the course another 5 years?

Key disadvantage -- not easy to do multi-processor stuff on 21469, or can I install two 21469 on their own JTAG USB ports, connect the link-ports and expect VDSP to handle the two board situation. The multi-tprocessor stuff was not a heavy part of the course (insufficient lab time) but was nice to demonstrate.

Key disadvantage -- lot of new lesson development
