Hi We are using two ADV7604 in our application for HDMI inputs.
We have one HDMI input connected to each ADV7604.What should be the configuration for the HDP pin from the HDMI connector.
Where /How should I connect the HDP pin to the ADV7604
The attached schematic shows how to connect the HDP signals. Q10 and HPDA allow the sink to toggle HPD1 pin singling to the source to re-read the EDID.
We have a product with HDMI input and output and also VGA and ypbpr, when contacted Analog India they suggested to post in EZ analog. We are using AD7604,ADV7511w and ADV7343 in our design.
Please let us know if you could review our schematics.
Sure, you can either post them here on the forum or we can take it off-line if you want to keep it private.
In our application we are having only single HDMI input,Is it required that we use HPD pins,I couldn't see ADV7604 take any direct input for HPD.
Also EDID if not using can we keep it floating
The ADV7604 only monitors the DDC_5V line to see when the source is plugged in.
The HPD line is connected to a n-fet controlled by HPDA which goes off the front end board to a processor or FPGA. Normally after you initialize the ADV7604 and write it's EDID block to it, the processor would toggle HDPA to force a low to high transition on HPD forcing the source to re-read the EDID data.
If all you want is the source to know when the sink (ADV7604) is plugged in, Then the resistor pull up from DDC_5V to HPD would indicate this.
If you are not using the ADV7604 DDC pins then I would just weakly pull them high or low.
