I would like to ask how many samples per second are possible with 20-24 bit precision. Usually manufacturers try to get the noise as low as the resolution but I don't need that. I want a fast sampling with high resolution. It is no problem at all if noise of say -40dB is added to the desired signal.
So far I think the limits are 24 bit at 2,5 MSPS, or 16 bit at 2,5 GSPS.
I am interested to know how further is it possible to go with ADCs. In case telecommunications industry gets a booming need for very fast very high-speed ADC with high acceptable noise levels.
