How to feed digital data from SigmaDSP core to a PC

I have the ADAU1781 evaluation board with some MEMS microphones. I want to know how I can send the digital data from the sigmaDSP core to a PC. I know the serial output port can be used for that, but is there a more detailed explanation for the easiest way that it can be accomplished.

Alternatively, I tried to probe the the Line Out analog lines on the board and feed it to the Line In port of a USB audio interface that I have, but the signal level is very low and barely registers any thing. But ideally I would like to avoid the extra DAC step.
