I am using the HMC536MS8 with a date code of PYAC and I am getting a very high loss through the part. The loss is 10 -15dB where I am expecting 1-2 dB. Is there anything that could cause such a high loss in these switches?
Could I have a bad lot?
All HMC536MS8 devices are tested in production to ensure that only functionally compliant devices are shipped to the customers. An HMC536MS8 device having an insertion loss of 10-15 dB would not have passed production test limits and would have been rejected prior to shipping.
Please provide some background information so that we can better understand the nature of this issue;
1- Test setup diagram and test conditions (temperature, frequency, average and peak power levels at RF ports, high and low voltage levels for digital inputs “A and B”)?
2- The pictures of application board schematic & layout?
3- Was the failure observed in first power-up or after certain time of operation?
4- Have you tested multiple HMC536MS8 devices? What is the failure rate?
5- Have you reflowed the application board or replace the problematic HMC536MS8 device with known good HMC536MS8 device to check if the issue would be removed?
