We can't get the ADXL375 eval board to work with Win 8, apparently no drivers built. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, is there a workaround. Troy
As you know, we used CP2102 as the USB<->UART bridge chip, we are working with Silicon Lab to see whether there are some work around method. We cannot get the qualified driver over WIN7 OS in short time. If there is no perfect solution, we may have to change the mother board totally to support the WIN8, WIN10 or WINxx.
Please kindly use the WIN7 OS with the current EVB in short time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
So far, the USB driver is only verifed based on XP, Vista, WIN7. I think the issue may be caused by the driver issue.
Could you kindly try to check whether you can see the COM port as shown below based on your PC? If not, the EVB cannot run becaue of the USB driver. In short time, you need to use a PC with lower version OS. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Neil, thanks, we do not get the COM1 line as you snapped above..only the COM4...Troy
If you can see the ADI Inertial Sensor Evaluation System (COMx) in your PC, that means the PC can find the board correctly. Then, the board should can work normally.
Please check the CR1 on the mother board, if it is turn on after you connect it to PC, that means the USB driver work well.
If so, you may can try to update the firmware in MCU and see whether the EVB can work well with your PC. More details about updating firmware can be found from the attached user guide.
Neil, thanks again. We will try a firmware update. The CR1 light is always Red color for us, no green.
Have you or anyone else ever successfully used this with Win 8?
CR1 is just used to show whether the board is connected correctly with PC no matter it is green or red. If it is turn on, that means the board is connected correctly with PC. So far, I did not have any PC to try WIN8 OS by myself.
Hi BR Neil, thanks again for keeping me in the loop on any progress in getting this to work with Win 8....and any other suggestions....my team and I are so frustrated by this..Troy
Neil, have there been any updates in drivers to get the ADXL375 to work with Win 8?
Has anyone tried with Win 8 on your team or any AD team
Still hoping and desparate,
Sorry, I did not have any chance to try WIN8 yet. Is the board can work with other PC?
Based on your description, it is not like driver issue, the CR1 can turn on and you can see COMx for the board, that means the driver that we offer can wrok with WIN8.
Had you tried to update the firmware in the attachment that I sent to you?
Have you or your team tried again qith WIN8? Are there any new drivers?
Is there anyone that can get on a real time telecon with us to troubleshoot?
Please keep us posted on workarounds. I hope you will have drivers for WIN10.
I hope we can find a way for it to work on win 8 without having to change the EVB.
We are still surprised that there was nothing in the specs that said this could not work with win 8.
Best regards, Troy
Neil, can we get with a tech person who can take control of one of our PCs real time to see if all the SW and settings are right before we move to WIN 7.
When will the ADXL375 work with another version of windows....we have machines waiting.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have new ADXL375 Sensor And I wanted to configure it through my MSP430FR6989.
I am new to Controller.
Is there any example code that I can refer for interfacing of ADXL375 over I2C.
Need Your help in this matter.
Has anyone had success in running the ADXL 375 with Win 8---has Analog done any updates to allow this interface to work?
Hello all--can someone send us the link to the latest firmware for the ADXL375...thanks
The firmware for ADXL375 EVB can be found from the link below:
The ADXLxxx parts are going to use a new EVB platform to support the different OS, PADs, PHONEs. The old ones will only support XP, Vista, WIN7. Sorry for that.
