According to "Pin Descriptions" in the datasheet of HMC550A/550AE, we have to insert blocking capacitors to pin of RF1 & RF2. Can't we use this SPST SW for DC signal?
HMC550A uses GaAs pHEMT FETs which are depletion mode devices, they must be biased with a negative voltage at the gate with respect to the voltage at the drain/source. Drain/source (RF ports) of FETs is internally biased at Vdd to control the HMC550A with a positive gate voltages (Vctl). Thus HMC550A requires DC blocking capacitors at RF ports and cannot be operated at low frequencies down to DC.
