ADV7403 and 675i composite input?

The ADV7403 datasheet indicates that it supports "many other standards not listed here".  We're trying to handle a 675i NTSC composite input.

I've seen elsewhere on this discussion board that this type of video signal can be processed if the composite video were 'stripped' of sync and the active video content sent into Y of the SVIDEO input.   (https://ez.analog.com/thread/4806)

Is anyone aware of someone actually doing this?  Would the approach be the use of zener blocking diodes to remove the sync?  Would the ADV7403 be a good part to attempt this approach, or is there another that someone has more experience with this sort of thing?

Any help would be appreciated.
