Unable to write to AD5272 over I2C

First, thank you for taking the time to consider my problem. Problem: I have been unsuccessful in writing over the I2C to change the resistive output between A and W. The simple first step has been to write three bytes over the I2C at a 100kHz, 0x58, 0x04, 0x01 and 0x5E, 0x04, and 0x01. The problem is I can not identify what seems to be the problem with the communication and data sent over the communication.

Sending the first byte was 0x58 and is the seven bit address with the 0 in the LSB for a write.

Sending the second byte is two 0's in the MSB mandatory then 0b0001 for the control, write the RDAC with data, and the last two bits represent the MSB of the data, D9 and D8.

Sending the third byte is the last 8 bits of the data to be written to the RDAC.
