I have a project using the BF592 and am trying to debug a booting issue. I wanted to use the debugger to step through the boot code.
I've been able to do this on a different blackfin, the BF527. When I attach the debugger to my BF592 board and try to view the boot rom at address 0xef000000 it shows it filled with 0xee. I think this is some kind of emulator issue. I wrote a short test program to read bytes out of this area and there seems to be stuff there. I was able to read the BK_REVISION location described in the ref manual. Does any one know why I can't see this memory.
I am using VisualDSP 5.1.2 together with a ICE-100B emulator.
There is another odd thing with this part. When I setup a debug session the only BF59x part option is BF592-A. I don't know what the "A" mean and it leads me to think that suppor for 592 is spotty in VisualDSP.
