XSIM Simulation Errors with fmcomms2/zc702  Reference Design

I've installed the  Reference Design for fmcomms2/zc702   on my PC and created Vivado 2013.4 project file :

c:/github/hdl/projects/fmcomms2/zc702/ fmcomms2_zc702.xpr

compiled all the libraries,  synthesized, and then implemented the design ( generated  system_top.bit  file in fmcomms2_zc702.runs/impl_1 )  and exported hardware to the SDK.

I now want to run a behavioral simulation with the Vivado Simulator ;  I'm getting the following errors :

Vivado Commands (2 errors)

[Simtcl 6-30] Unable to locate simulation image at 'xsim.dir/system_top_behav/xsimk.exe'

[Vivado 12-2332] Received fatal error while launching XSIM application !

Simulation (1 error)
[XSIM 43-3202] "c:/github/hdl/projects/fmcomms2/zc702/fmcomms2_zc702.srcs/sources_1/bd
Line 80. System function $clog2 is not supported.

I've attached the xelab.log  file  from my failed simulation run.

This log file and other files were generated  in fmcomms2/zc702/fmcomms2_zc702.sim/sim_1/behav .

Is the Vivado tool version causing the above "System function $clog2 is not supported"  error ?

How do I fix this ?
