Hello, I have a question about closed captioning of ADV7390.
About the parity bit of closed caption, is the parity bit inserted by ADV7390 automatically?Or do we have to set the parity bit to the registers?
Thank you.Best regards.
I checked the encoder output for NTSC with closed captioning enabled. You are correct, bit 8, the parity bit must be programmed by the user. The encoder cannot automatically set the parity.
I'm not sure, but I think the parity is generated automatically. It should be easy enough to test by comparing the value in the Analog output to what you have written in the I2C register.
Thank you for your reply.
There is a description on ADV7390 data sheet as follows:
"The data consists of two 8-bit bytes (seven data bits and one odd parity bit per byte). The data for these bytes is stored in SD closed captioning registers (Subaddress 0x93 to Subaddress 0x94)."
So I think we should set 8bit including one parity bit to the register. What do you think?
Thank you very much!
