Hello. I have a question about ADV7390.
When ADV7390 outputs PAL, is Closed Caption invalid?
Thank you.Best regards.
This morning I checked to ensure we do output CCAP in PAL mode. CCAP is output on lines 21 and 334 when PAL is output.
It's called something different in PAL (teletext?) but I think it still works the same. I'll check.
Yes, David is correct here. Closed captioning is generally referred to as teletext in Europe.
Thank you for your reply.
I checked other datasheet about this.Datasheet of AK8813 says that closed caption data is inserted to line 22 and line 335 in PAL.(I don't know whether it means teletext or not.)
http://www.akm.com/akm/en/file/datasheet/AK8813VQ.pdf(Please see page 19.)
Datasheet of ADV7390 doesn't say about this.I think it says only line 21 and line 284 in NTSC.So I think when ADV7390 outputs PAL, Closed Caption is invalid.
This is NOT request that we want ADV7390 to support closed caption in PAL.If ADV7390 does not support this, it'll be OK. (I'll tell it to the customer.)We want to know only whether ADV7390 supports closed caption in PAL or not.
When you get the answer, please let me know.
Let me confirm your comment.Do you mean that ADV7390 outputs CC data on lines 21 and 334 when PAL is output?Aren't closed caption registers changed then?(Do you change only registers for changing video output from NTSC to PAL?)
I set the part up for PAL mode as usual. Then I enabled CCAP (0x83 [6:5] = 11B).
I used register 93 and 0x94 to output the data on line 21 of the odd fields.
I used register 0x91 and 0x92 to output the data on line 21 (Line 334 for PAL, Line 284 for NTSC ) of the even fields.
Thank you very much !
