Can you explain difference between nop and idle commands?
nop instruction provides a null operation. It increments only the fetch address.
idle instruction executes a NOP and puts the processor in a low power state. The processor remains in the low power state until an interrupt occurs. On return from the interrupt, execution continues at the instruction following the Idle instruction.
This information is also available in SHARC Programming Reference Manual.
