How Can I use ADV202 HD eval board for video compression throgh the PCI interface?
The board has an HD-SDI interface for 720p or 1080i and the software you download for the board allows you to capture the compressed video to a local hard drive on the PC.
Is it possible video compression through PCI interface ( HIPI mode ) ?
Through HIPI mode I am able to get still image compression .
How about video?
Hi PSS, If you packaged the video as a series of still images you could do it. Alternatively you could make an input filter which could read your video format. That can be pretty complicated though if you haven't done DirectX programming before. Dave
Can you give some suggetions on how to convert normal vedio file( avi file ) into the series image frames to feed into the eval board?
Also in the HIPI mode how to feed a 10 bit image for compression?
You can use the HipiSourceCreator App if you convert the video into a series of BMPs. It'll work with 10-bit or 8-bit. That's about the only way.
Alternatively, if you know DirectX programming you can make your own input filter for the AVIs and make an App out of that. That isn't something we can help you with though.
