I need to design a board that will capture analog camera at 1080P@50HZ resolution. I found that the AD9984A device can do the work, but I saw it old.
My questions are:
Can I use it?
Can someone recommend on a new device?
You don't need SDRAM unless you use time base correction or the 3D comb filter with SD.
The only concern with using AD9984A is that there is no evaluation board available right now and if you have a problem it'll take much longer to resolve as support is quite limited.
Honestly, the best part would be ADV7842 even if you aren't using the digital. There is a version without HDCP keys. AD9984A still gets limited support though as it's the only higher-speed analog-only part.
I think the ADV7842 is overkill for my needs, it also will require me to add an external SDRAM. And from the budget perspective it cost twice than the AD9984.
Is there a problem using the AD9984?
Thanks for you answer.
