Can two or more ADA4870's be paralleled to get higher output current?
Yes two or more ADA4870's can be connected in parallel to increase the output current, however there must be a low value resistor in series with the each output. Without the series resistors, even a small difference in offset voltage between the parallel amplifiers could result in large DC currents flowing between the outputs.
what value series resistor would you recommend if one were pushing 800mA of current from a +-15V supply rail through an inductive load using two ada4870's? thanks very much
