Can I use the ADA4870 as a voltage follower? What I mean is cani use it like a regular voltage feedback amplifier and short the output to the inverting input?
Well the answer is yes and no. Yes you can use the ADA4870 as a voltage follower, but no you cannot short out the feedback resistor (i.e. take the output directly to the inverting input) because the ADA4870 uses a current feedback architecture. In this case for a G=+1 (a.k.a. unity gain) you need to use a 2K feedback resistor as specified in the datasheet.
I try to operate the ADA4870 as a voltage follower. In Figure 1 you can see my circuit. The operating voltage is + - 5V and the input signal is 2.8 V (DC). I wired the ADA4870 to a gain of +1 to get, but it does not work. I obtained at the output only 2.5 V. Maybe you can help me.
