While interfacing AD7606 in Parallel Byte mode,
Can I hard-wire pins DB15/BYTESEL & DB14/HBEN to Vdrive. Are there any series resisters required while doing so?
The HBENDB15/BYTESEL & DB14/HBEN are digital pins. I would suggest putting a pull up resistor when connecting this pin directly to Vdrive . This is to protect the part specially when there is another trace connected to this pin, which can change the pin to lo (ground), if this happened, Vdrive will have a direct connection to the ground. You may also want to check the AD7606 evaluation board user guide for your reference like on the RANGE (pin 8) and PAR/SER/BYTE (pin6) pins of the schematic.
Thanks, So a resistor of 1K ohms pull up is sufficient? Taking in to account that Vdrive might be either 5V or 3.3V.
Currently, I have connected RANGE, PAR/SER/BYTE, and ~STBL pins through a 1K resistor pull up.
OS[2:0] are connected through a 1K ohms pull down resistors.
I think 1k ohm resistor works fine.
