Is the ROM on BF70x different then the previous Blackfin .
What is the purpose of On-chip L2 ROM .
With best regards and wishes
The processor does not include any user-programmable ROM space - the 512K 2L2 ROM is pre-configured with the Boot ROM, security collateral and various runtime libraries.
The L2 ROM on the ADSP-BF70x contains the Boot ROM, Security Code and a general-purpose ROM space that serves as a 'Utlity ROM' - containing a selection of runtime libraries (similar to what we have in the ADSP-BF592-A).
Hi Craig ,
Do we have access to Gerenal Purpose ROM .
BF592 ROM has 64K but BF70x has 512K , Can we use it for custom Boot or is it a MASK ROM same as previous Blackfin which cannot be used .
Thankyou for the information .
Where can I find documentation on what is in the BF70x L2 ROM? I see that the boot ROM details are in the Hardware Reference Manual. Above you mention that it is similar to what is in the BF592-A ROM, but that has VDK and I am assuming that the BF70x ROM will have uC/OS functions.
The BF592 data sheet mentions that it's L1 Utility ROM contains C run-time libraries and DSP libraries. Does this mean all of them? If not, where is it documented what functions are in the ROM?
The Utility ROM contents are listed at the end of the Release Notes for CCES 1.1.0.
