AD2S1210 with external excitation signal generation

Dear all,

I would like to use the AD2S1210 chip to convert a resolver reading to a encoder output. However it seems that the reference signal needs to be the one generated in the chip. Could it use a external reference signal and just do the conversion from the inputs from the resolver? (we need to use the signal generated by other device).

I think that for example the AD2S90 allows an external chip to generate the excitation signal for the resolver and it just needs the 2 output signals from the resolver to get the angle.

Any help will be welcome.
