How to configure the digital filter of ADP1051?

It is very flexible to configure the digital filter by the use of ADP1051 GUI. By pulling up the low frequency gain in GUI, the low frequency gain is increased. By pulling down the low frequency gain, the low frequency gain is decrease. But I don't know how the low frequency gain, high frequncy gain, zero setting and pole setting will effect the close loop. Are there any guide line for customer to configure their digital filter based on the time domain waveform or the Bode plot of frequency domain? For example, how to configure the digital filter if the overshoot is too big and how to configure the digital filter if the recovery time is too long during the dynamic test, how to configure the digital filter if the phase margin is not enough? Thanks
