I am trying to use AD8066 8-MSOP package but it keeps heating up. I require to use it at a supply voltage of +/-12V on reducing the supply voltage to +/-5V. Without input also this problem persists. Please provide help.
Kindly refer to page 22 of the AD8066 datasheet which discusses the thermal considerations for the part. At no load and with a 24V supply, you would expect the AD8066 to dissipate about 312mW of power. You can use this information to calculate the junction temperature that you would expect. The formula is:
Tj = Ta + (Pd * θja)
Tj = junction temperature
Ta = ambient temperature (25degC)
Pd = dissipated power (312mW as given above)
θja = thermal resistance (150degC/W for MSOP-8)
With this dissipated power, you would expect a junction temperature of about 72C. This demonstrates that you would expect the part to heat up slightly. This technical article gives more information on the topic.
You can use multiple PCB layers in order to help conduct heat away from the package, or use circuit boards that have a large area of low thermal resistance copper traces. Another solution would be what you did, which was to lower the supply voltage.

In what configuration are you using the part? What is the current draw out of the power supply? Can you post a schematic?
The current drawn by the power supply is about 10-20mA. Its used in the inverting configuration
