Power consumption of AD8232 EVALUATION BOARD

We are using an AD8232 evaluation board in our project. According to the specification of the AD8232 chip, it should consume about 170 micro Ampere. However, when we connect the evaluation board, it consumes 100 micro Ampere at 3.3 Volts. The AD8232 chip is also really hot when we use it. In our end product we want to power the chip with a battery, and the power consumption now looks way too high. We would like to know if this is normal operation, if there is something wrong with the board, or if we must do something special to make it operate in normal/low power consumption.
