I need to use AD1895 devices in TDM mode.
In this mode, for example, if there are 4 devices and one of the devices in the chain them does not get an input, then how would this be taken care in the output?
The first device in the chain will not have an input and so you will need to ground the input pin.
The operation is simple. The first AD1895 will output its audio input that it is sample rate converting onto slots 1 and 2 of the TDM stream. Meanwhile it was clocking in all zeros from its TDM input. So all it outputs is two channels of data on slots 1 and 2 with 3-8 blank.
The next AD1895 will do the same thing, output its resampled audio data in the TDM slots 1 & 2. But as it is doing this it is receiving and buffering channels 1&2 from the first part. When it is done sending slots one and two it will then send out the data it just received from the TDM in. So the data from the first AD1895 will now be in slots 3 & 4 and this continues with each part so in the end the first AD1895's data ends up in slots 7&8.
