No HDMI output in latest Ubuntu design for ZedBoard

Branched to a new discussion

I have followed the wiki instructions for building the Ubuntu software for ZedBoard, and as far as I can tell, everything looks good from the build perspective.   The system boots ZedBoard from SD card, and the Linaro kernel prompt comes up on the console.   I can interact with Linux from the command line.   However, there is no indication of any output on my HDMI monitor.   I have an older version of this design saved from EDK 14.4, and it works fine.   I also can get the bare metal HDMI software to produce an HDMI image.  So it seems unlikely I have any connection or board issues.   Do you have any ideas on what might be going on here to prevent the HDMI output from happening, or is there any place in particular that I might start looking to determine if a mistake has been made (by me)?  I've tried it twice, from scratch, with the same results.

Thanks,

Ron
