I am using the adau1701...
Is there a security bit or some type of encryption that can make the program that we wrote for the 1701 protected from unauthorized duplication or reading and reverse engineering?
Unfortunately, no, the ADAU1701 does not have a security mechanism to prevent reading from the RAMs and registers.
So there is no mechanism whatsoever? I find this troubling, if true. There is no way of restricting readback from the EEPROM, so anyone can trivially clone a finished product? No clever methods?
How about similar chips in this category? How do manufacturers protect their IP?
