I am testing a custom board with ADV7612P->FPGA->ADV7511P.
Now FPGA is in a pass-through mode, so the connection is really ADV7612P->ADV7511P.
ADV7612P and ADV7511P I2C initialization is temporarly done by a custom PCI->I2C adaptor.
EDID is internal and I used it from the end of ADV7612-VER.2.9c.txt file.
So, ADV7612P now is recognized as a VA-1809A HDMI analyser when I connect it to the HDMI-output of a NVidia Graphic card.
Q1: Would You please publish this EDID in the *.dat format so, that it could be examined in EEdit.
Q2: In the UG-216 ( page 64 ) it is written, that if AUDIO_SAMPLE_PCKT_DET=1 ( Addr 68 (HDMI), Address 0x18 ), then L_PCM or IEC 61937 compressed audio sample packet were received within the last 10 HSyncs.
Is it possible to further determine what exactly audio sample packets were received: L_PCM uncompressed or IEC 61937 compressed audio?
Q3. I tested three different sources of HDMI signal:
1). HD camcoder
2). NVidia Graphic card
3). HD cable TV receiver
If connected to ADV7612P with internal EDID as VA-1809A all of them produced I2S and SPDIF signals at the output of ADV7612P: SPDIF is at AP0 and I2S is at AP1.
Is it a coincidence or all commom HDMI sources provide both I2S and SPDIF signals encapsulated in its output HDMI streams?
P.S. If Yes, then is it done for comfort at the receiver side and both I2S and SPDIF signals carry the same information?
