ADIS 16210 Accelerometer Bias Correction

The datasheet discusses the ability to bias correct the accelerometer outputs. However according to figure 17 shown on page 12 of the datasheet, this bias correction is not used when computing the inclination angles. I'm assuming if we need to use this bias correction to account for any misplacement of the device during manufacture that we will need to compute angle data in our downstream processing. If we do need to compute angles using accelerometer data should the measurement mode (MSC_CTRL[8]) be set to 1?

Also in figure 17 there is a box called "USER REFERENCE ALIGNMENT" which applies a correction if GLOB_CMD[0] is set to 1. In the section discussing Global Commands, bit[0] is shown as "Not used". There doesn't seem to be any mention of this in the datasheet other than this diagram. Is this feature still available and how is it used?
