Can I use digital multimeter to measure AD8042 resistance (rwb) or multimeter current can destroy IC?
My multimeter datasheet say only: Max Open Circuit Voltage: 2.8v in Resistance Measure
AD8042 is a Dual 160MHz Rail-to-rail Amplifier. Maybe you are referring to AD8402 which is a 2-Channel Digital Potentiometer.
If this is the case, as long as the R,W, and B pins are floating (not connected to anything), you can use your multimeter to measure the resistances of the R, W, and B with respect to each other without causing or destroying the multimeter or the IC.
Thank you Mark for your reply, component is AD8402, there was a mistake in writing.
I have read in datasheet that current allowed is very small so without know how much current source multimeter with resistance measurement I have asked.
Thank you again
