I am having issues with outputting a 16 bit I/Q datafile on the zedboard with the ad 9361. I have a file that is big endian with 16 bit I and 16bit Q samples. I use the dds_buf_random.sh example to write out the file instead of /dev/urandom. However, the waveform does not look correct when I look at it with a spectrum analyser. It seems to be a very smooth clean fsk, however, it is supposed to be an FM sample. I know the sample file is correct I just believe I have the wrong format or I am not setting something correctly. In addition to outputting the 16 bit Complex data I also tried a file with duplicate complex data for the other channel to see if that was the problem but I got the same waveform.
