We have a floating license for VisualDSP++5.0, and have been using it without issue for several years. Recently, we began experience a problem when users at some of our facilities outside of the US attempted to launch the software. They receive an error message stating that there is a problem communicating with the license server software. In one case, the user setup/configured a laptop here is the US, and everything functioned properly. Upon returning to Brazil, he began experience this problem.
Has anyone else come across this problem? Has anyone developed a work-around?
I've received some feedback that it may be related to slow network speeds, and the software timing out when trying to obtain a license. This seems plausible since the license server is running here in the US and it may take longer to communicate with it from international servers. I have our IT looking into it, but wanted to see if anyone else is aware of the problem.
