I have a question about ADV7181D.
Question: Could you tell me the output screen size at free run mode just after power-up (registers are default) without input?
Thank you!Best regards.
You asked specifically "just after powerup without input". There is a known issue with freerun that it will *never* work until there has been at least one valid input that the part has synced to. After the part has been programmed and there has been at least one valid input, it will free run when there is no input.
After power-up with registers at default, it will not free-run at all. Have you tried it with an evaluation board? That would be the best way to understand.
Do you mean video format? I don't believe it will free-run at all on power-up without programming it but I'll check.
Thank you for your reply.
Yes. I mean video format. When you can get any information, please let me know.
I confirmed that with no prior input it will not free-run at all in any defined format in any case.
Hi Dave, Thank you for your reply.
There are descriptions about free-run mode on datasheet as follows:
Page 6."Free run output mode providing stable timing when no video input is present"
Page 193."9.5 Free Run Mode (CP)Free Run mode is intended to provide the user with a stable clock and predictable data if the inputsignal cannot be decoded, e.g. input video is not present."
So I think when registers are default and input video is not present, ADV7181D will be free-run mode.Am I wrong?
