I would like to monitor the vibration of a steel pole 150 ft high that is experiencing severe vortex shedding. Ultimately I want to compare the vibration before and after applying damping systems. So I would like some suggestions on building a small data acquisition system for 4 to 8 3-axis accelerometers, a couple anemometers and wind direction devices. These will be exposed to the environment and remote. So a power supply, battery and charger, and self-conatined system is needed. Remote interfacing is not a must, although would be consdiered if practical. Otherwise memory dumps will be used on interval site visits.
My search for a service provider to do this has been unsuccessful through limited capability or way to expensive. So I look towads building the system internally.
