Did anybody a successful compilation of ee-256 source code?
this EE-Note is from 2006 and may depend on an old revision of VisualDSP++.
I suggest you to create a dual core project with the VisualDSP++ wizard and than include the source like they are now in the individual projects.
Thanks for your reply. I already did with VisualDSP++ 4.5 and 5.0, but I get the same error.
I will try to fix it these days otherwise I will email the Ching Lam, the author of EE256.
On a separate but related topic. Have you seen the video application examples for the ADSP-BF561 that are provided with the Blackfin Software Development Kit (SDK):
The SDK provides several video and image processing utilities (like the VideoInLCDOut application example) that might be of help.
Regarding the SDK, I was about to install it, just to check out the JPEG examples, and the installer told me it wanted to "patch" my VDSP++ 5.0. I aborted.
What is this patch? There were no details. I have v5.0 update 6 installed.
Two things. First of all, VisualDSP++ 5.0 Update 7 or later is required to be able to successfully install SDK 4.00.
Secondly, the patch is exaplined in the SDK 4.00 Release Notes (file attached):
Hope this helps.
For project control reasons, I can't update VDSP at the moment. I was just looking to see what was new in the image processing suite. Not a problem.
Are you aware of the cloning feature in VisualDSP++? From the VisualDSP++ online help:
VisualDSP++ supports cloning of an existing installation. A clone of an installation creates a new instance of a product from an existing installation, rather than from a CD or Web software distribution. The use of clones allows you to maintain multiple versions of VisualDSP++ on the same PC at different update levels, and provides a risk-free way to "test" new updates or patches.
To clone your existing installation of VisualDSP++
I already did the clone of the VDSP 5.0 in other location (different partition) on my computer because I don't have enough space to update it with the last patch (8) and it works. The only problem that I have is the licence. I have a TST version received from ADI and I still have 87 days, but when I place the TST no to the cloned the message was: it's already installed on this computer. I'm awe to uninstall the current version of VDSP that is working with TST and to place the TST to the cloned version because could reset the trial to 0 days. This was the question that I placed to ADI support.
do not uninstall your other installation of VisualDSP++; the Test Drive License is per-machine, not per-installation of VisualDSP++. To have multiple installations on a single PC all use the same Test Drive License, simply copy the "...\System\license.dat" from your existing installation to the new insatllation. Both versions of VisualDSP++ will expire at the same time.
Thanks Craig. It works.
I know the SDK, but I don't know if I have 4.00 installed. Anyway I will install it these days
and I will look very close to it.
