We've got a couple of these chips assembled on a circuit board with an FPGA to control communication and video output. Both boards are behaving the same so we suspect there is some bit of information we are lacking that is causing the chip to not be able to communicate correctly.
We've verified 1.8V and 3.3V to appropriate PVDD, DVDD, AVDD et. al. PD is high at power on. R_EXT has 887o res to ground. HPD has 10k res to ground. We've not attempted to connect an HDMI device to the chip. At this stage we're only attempting to send/receive i2c communication.
We send i2c address 0x7a but always get NAK. Tried 0x72 for completes but same result. Verified with scope that i2c communication looks standard. We're wondering if there is some other variable for starting up the chip that we may have missed. Any thoughts appreciated
