Flash memory recommended for new design

Hi,

I use on my own board a parallel flash memory, M29W800DB from ST, but i am having difficulty purchasing it.

Almost all the distributors show long factory lead time for parallel flash memory.

Atmel announces: "In order to align Atmel as the premier serial interface memory supplier in the global market, the Parallel Flash families are not recommended for new design.  Please contact                                          Atmel to discuss the latest design in trends and options."

So is everyone using/migrating to serial flash memory?

Could you indicate models (easy to buy) compatible with blackfin Bf533?

regards,

Fagner
