We are using the ADV7181D for both Composite PAL (SD-4X1-M, 625i) and Component PAL (SD 4x2 625i) video sources. Composite PAL works as expected but Component PAL has the top line is missing and the bottom line appears one line before the actual bottom. The ADV7181D drives a FPGA where we are using the embedded AV codes to decode Start-of-Active-Video, Vertical Blanking and Field. The FPGA code is agnostic to the video type (Component / Composite).
Attached are two scope images, one for Component and one for Composite.
1. (yellow) - raw video entering the ADV7181D
2. (blue) - FPGA decoded SAV from AV codes
3. (purple) - FPGA decoded "not blanking" from AV codes
4. (green) - FPGA decoded most significant bit of Green
The video source contains a white single pixel wide outline. The first line should be (and is) a solid white line. The Composite image correctly shows the video data aligning with the decoded "not blanking". The Component image incorrectly has the decoded "not blanking" delayed by one full line. In other words, The ADV7181D is incorrectly sending the first line of video during the last line of vertical blanking. Is there a way to correct this?
