I would like to use 2 dds to generate 2 signal in quadrature. Is that possible with all DDS IC from AD by simply synchronized them and by generating an offset one of them ? I plan to use AD9837 or 9834 for that.
Is cost is a drving force for this particular application? If not, it's worth mentioning the AD9958. It's a dual channel DDS so the two channels are inherently synchronized via the common REF CLK. Refer to the data sheet for details.
Yes You Can.
I did this some years ago and it worked fine.
The nice thing about this is that you can for example tune any 90° error of your I/Q mixer by applying a slight offset to the 90° phase shift to one of the DDSs.
Although AD9837 is much cheaper than AD9834, what you can use is AD9834.
To synchronize 2 DDSs requires a RESET pin which the AD9834 has.
You can refer to AN-587 Figure 3 for reference on REFCLK, DATA and RESET connection.
