DDS AD9910_PCBZ Single Tone Configuration and Hardware setup Required

Hello all,


I'm trying to generate a single tone (1 Mhz 2V P-P sine wave) in AD9910_PCBZ evaluation board, using the following configuration:




i) for single tone profile 0: P_0, P_1, P_2 all tied to ground since only one frequency needs to be generated (right now)

ii) SPI (in external control jumper setting) pins connected.SCLK 100khz or 1MHz, Clock idles high, data at beginning of each clock cycle

iii) Reference Clock input: Jumper is at XTAL (for on-chip crystal to provide clock)




i) Send: 00 00 00 00 02 (Setting up 3 wire SPI, SDIO input only)

ii) Send: 01 00 C0 C8 20 OR 01 00 C0 08 20 (Enabling Internal IO update with either 1:1 IO Update rate control or 1:8 IO Update rate control)

iii) Send: 0E 00 00 00 00 YY YY YY YY (Single tone profile 0, no ASF, no Phase offset, 1 MHz freq_out)



So my questions are:


1) Is my hardware setup for single tone profile 0 correct?

2) Are my register settings for single tone profile 0 ok? if not, then please suggest me some setting for (demo purpose) single tone profile 0 with auto IO update, 3 wire SPI, 1 Mhz output wave, no phase offset, no amplitude scaling, and FTW setting based on on-board crystal on the ad9910 PCBZ evaluation kit)

3) How to read back the SPI data that is sent to registers?
