ADV7280 progressive mode

Hi all,

 

We have the evaluation board of the ADV7280 connected to:

  • a PAL camera on its Ain1 input
  • a BT656 parallel CSI port of an i.MX6 on its digital output

 

We can successfully receive the video flow when configured in interlaced mode, but we can't receive anything in progressive mode.

 

To activate the interlaced mode, we run successfully the following scripts:

  • ASettings -> Customer_Version_4_5_November_06th_2013_ADV7280
  • CVBS_AUTODETECT -> Autodetect_CVBS_Single_Ended_In_Ain_1_YPrPb_Out

  • CVBS_INTERLACED_TO-PROGRESSIVE -> I2P_PAL_In_Ain1_YPrPb_Out_576p_EAV_SAV

On the i.MX side, there is a small change to indicate the BT656 flow is progressive instead of interlaced, but it doesn't work (we also tested a few other changes without success). The problem could be on i.MX side, but we have no BT656 analyser to check the validity of the video flow!

 

My questions are:

  1. Has anybody tested the I2P function in PAL mode. In particular, is the I2P_PAL_In_Ain1_YPrPb_Out_576p_EAV_SAV script valid?
  2. In the BT656 traffic, what kind of change do we have in the frames?
  3. Is there a way to configure the ADV7280 I2P function to provide 25 fps (instead of 50)? I was quite surprise to see the clock frequency doubling when activation the I2P function, whereas nothing mentions the framerate doubling in the documentation (it is indicated for ADV7280M but not for the ADV7280).
