Hello, everybody, I need a little help.
Can anybody tell me, how to configure ad7792 driver with linux kernel 2.6.30?
Is it possible?
I know, that it's real possible in kernel 3.12.7, but 2.6.30 is exactly what I need.
Yes, there is no existing backport for this driver to 2.6.30. You need to create your own.
Can anyone help me, please?
Apologies, we have overlooked this. I'll get back to you with a reply.
The v2.6.30 version of the Linux kernel was released almost 5 years ago. The driver for the ad7792 is included since the v3.1 release. The driver uses the IIO framework which is included since the v2.6.32 release, but has seen a substantial set of changes since then. If you need support for the ad7792 in the v2.6.30 kernel you'll have to backport both the IIO framework and the ad7792 to that kernel version.
For more information on the ad7792 driver you can read the driver's documentation.
I do not know, what backports is.
Can you give me any link for example?
Backporting. It means taking a set of patches that implement a certain feature and apply it to an earlier version of the software.
I can't find any driver that I need in backports site: http://drvbp1.linux-foundation.org/~mcgrof/rel-html/backports/
Should I create my custom backport?

Will this link(backports.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Documentation/backports/hacking) help me?
I need to add drivers before compilation and installation kernel image.
