The internal flash of BF506F has a parameter bank.
But hardware manual does not describe what in it is? And what we can do with this bank?
The documentation does not explicitly state that this memory is empty, however it is. These 'Parameter Banks' are part of the flash design. Rather than featuring Banks containing 8 uniform blocks of 32K, the M59WT032 splits Bank0 into Eight 4K blocks and Seven 32K blocks. The smaller blocks are the 'Parameter' blocks - we don't store anything specific in these (e.g. that you should avoid erasing), it's just a feature of the flash part.
You can use them as you would any other block.
It is uninitialized from the factory, so what is in it is garbage. It should be erased before first use. The parameter bank is simply a small version of the other blocks. It can be used to store a smaller data set, and erases and writes faster than the larger block. You can use it or ignore it as you see fit. You should review chapter 6 of this document: http://www.analog.com/static/imported-files/processor_manuals/ADSP-BF50x_hwr_rev1.2.pdf
I have reviewed the document once, but still I can not find the description you mentioned. Would you please point out which page describing it ?
Thanks so much!
And how is Craig's answer more useful than mine? (plus it's 3 weeks afterward)
Your answer is also useful. Thanks so much!
But I just need a clear relay, because I still felt confused after reading chapter 6 of the document.
