I am looking at VGA chips and test circuits for my application. Is there a way to give the VGA a reference voltage so that it maintains the amplitude of a signal at that point? We will be having an audio signal be the input and if the amplitude is too low, we want it to be automatically raised to our set point, if the signal is too loud, we want the amplitude to be decreased. This is for my capstone project at Northeastern University and we are trying to amplify speech. This will ultimately go into an automatic gain control circuit. We're currently searching for the best chip for this application and any help would be greatly appreciated.
