we are using one AD7606-4 in a system for measuring particles from a radioactive decay. So everytime a particle is detected, the amplitude of a signal peak is A/D converted. The AD7606 should be capable of 200 kSPS, i.e. 5 microseconds for input settling and conversion. Nevertheless, I do get wrong output code (too small values), if I do not wait minimum 25µs after the pulse appears on the AD converter input. This makes the maximum throughput of the system 1/(25µs wait + 3µs conversion) = 35 kSPS and not the 200 kSPS. Where is the problem?
Is there any pin compatible (not necessarily simultaneously sampling) A/D converter with at least double the throughput?
