We're interested in using the 9361, but need to be able to either determine or control exactly when each received sample was sampled by the A/D for precision timestamping of the IQ data. We can deal with a deterministic delay, just as long as it is the same all the time and we can calibrate it out. At the end we have to be able to figure out which sample coming off the digital interface went with which A/D clock.
A couple of questions
1) Is there any obvious way of doing this?
2) One method that comes to mind would be to disable the receiver and then re-enable it using the ENABLE pin at a known time. We would keep timestamps based on the timing of the first sample. To do this we could look at the GPO lines to know that the ENSM has entered the RX state and the CLKOUT which can be set to give us the A/D clock. The only way this will work, however, is if the timing between the ENSM entering the RX state and the first sample sample clock is always the same. Is this true? Would it work?
